This is a great little race over moorland on the edge of the Furness Peninsula, just South of the Lake District National Park Boundary. There were nearly 100 entries this year, mainly club runners, and feeling a little under the weather with a cold I finished outside the top half in 54th position. The weather was bright and clear and Kath made her way up to the top of the course from Gawthwaite to get some great photo opportunities.

Richard Lecky-Thompson of Ambleside leads a group in to the
third checkpoint. I'm hanging on at this point but I was dropped
by the group on the way from here to the final summit. |
